After his success against Jan-Lennard Struff in the first round, Otte also showed a strong performance against Radu Albot from Moldova in the Lanxess Arena. After losing the first set, the local hero managed to equalize 7: 5, in the decision Otte made up a break deficit twice, most recently to 5: 5. Albot got the service of his opponent again, after defending three breakballs he still served to 6: 4, 5: 7 and 7: 5.
From a German point of view, only Alexander Zverev (plays against Fernando Verdasco on Thursday) and brother Mischa Zverev (against Hubert Hurkacz on Wednesday) are represented in the individual field in Cologne.
Yannick Hanfmann is in the second round of the ATP Tour 250 tournament in Sardinia. The Kitzbühel finalist had no problems with Salvatore Caruso from Italy, winning 6-0 and 6-4. But now with Casper Ruud one of the best clay court players of the year is waiting for Hanfmann.
