Philipp Kohlschreiber can imagine mentoring young talents in the future

After the end of his career as a tennis pro, Philipp Kohlschreiber can imagine a job as a trainer with some distance. "Not at first, but who knows what will happen in two years. That certainly also depends on the player," said Kohlschreiber in an interview with the Süddeutsche Zeitung: "But to work as a mentor for talented people, to explain a few things to them from my point of view, I would enjoy that."

Kohlschreiber played the last match of his long career on the tour in qualifying for Wimbledon and is still playing the Bundesliga season for TC Großhesselohe to the end.

The 38-year-old, who earned $13.7 million in prize money, won eight tournaments and represented Germany in the Davis Cup for a long time, is now looking forward to "a new freedom", as Kohlschreiber described it. "If the weather is nice, I can just bike to the lake," he said: "What I also look forward to: eating what I feel like. If I feel like cake or roast pork, I treat myself to that now. "
