ATP: premiere, premiere! Already nine debut winners on the tour

With Maxime Cressy and Francisco Cerundolo , the number of players who won their first tournament on the ATP tour in 2022 has already grown to nine.

It has already become apparent over the course of this season that Francisco Cerundolo or Maxime Cressy would be able to win an ATP tournament sooner or later. Cerundolo made it to the semifinals in Miami (and that on the hard court he didn't prefer), and also showed great tennis in Wimbledon against Rafael Nadal. In his only final until Bastad, the Argentine had no chance against Diego Schwartzman in Buenos Aires 2021.

Cressy, on the other hand, has already reached the finals this year in Melbourne (lost to Nadal) and in Eastbourne, where he lost to Taylor Fritz. And now in Newport for the first time written down as a tournament winner. Which brings the number of debutants to a total of nine.
