Berrettini shattered British hopes for a home win for local hero Cameron Norrie. In the end, the Italian won 6: 4, 6: 7 (5), 6: 3 and took his fifth tournament victory - the second in 2021. And the biggest, namely the first in a tournament in the 500 category.

Berrettini hadn't made a sentence on the way to the final and stood out above all as a "British scare": Before Norrie, he had already taken Andy Murray and Dan Evans out of the tournament.

He had already proven that he can play on grass in Stuttgart in 2019 when he rushed to the title.

Berrettini copied Boris Becker

Especially when serving on his own, Berrettini was almost invulnerable throughout the week: he was only broken twice during the entire tournament, and in the final against Norrie he did not have to accept a single break chance against himself.

Berrettini is the first Queen's debutant since Boris Becker in 1985, who won the title straight away. And: the first Italian to win the lawn classic.
