At the top of the ATP world rankings, there are no more questions unanswered, Novak Djokovic will finish a tennis year as the best in his class for the seventh time. Behind that, however, the situation is getting worse. Even if Daniil Medvedev will definitely end the season in second place. Behind them, however, Alexander Zverev has caught up with Stefanos Tsitsipas in terms of points, the better performance at the ATP Finals in Turin will determine who will spend the winter on a podium.
Hubert Hurkacz has climbed to a new career high in the rankings with his semi-final entry in Paris-Bercy, the Pole is number nine for the first time with single digits. With Cameron Norrie (number twelve) and Aslan Karatsev (number 15), two other top 20 players were able to swing into new spheres. The same applies to Taylor Fritz, who is also the best-ranked American in 23rd place.
Dominic Thiem is still in 14th place, no bad prospects for the planned comeback on the ATP tour in early 2022. Roger Federer , which is and remains astonishing, is still in 16th place.
