ATP rankings: Altmaier cracks the top 100, Auger-Aliassime the top ten

After reaching the finals at the ATP Challenger tournament in Knoxville, Daniel Altmaier made it into the top 100 players in the world for the first time.

The 2021 season had some highlights ready for Daniel Altmaier, such as the semi-finals in Umag (from qualification) and the following week in Kitzbühel, in Lüdenscheid the 23-year-old German also has the ATP Challenger there. Won tournament like the one in Braunschweig. Last week, Altmaier made it to the final in Knoxville - and this Monday is number 98 among the 100 best players in the world for the first time. And thus as the fifth best German behind Alexander Zverev (third place), Jan-Lennard Struff (51), Dominik Koepfer (54) and Peter Gojowczyk (85).

Oscar Otte has also approached a double-digit ranking with his triumph at the Challenger in Ortisei, the round of 16 at this year's US Open is in 116th place - one place behind Philipp Kohlschreiber.

Félix Auger-Aliassime was able to celebrate a premiere in the extended world elite: The Canadian is in tenth place, making it into the top ten for the first time. However, if Jannik Sinner were to replace Matteo Berrettini at the ATP Finals and win at least one match in Turin, the South Tyrolean Auger Aliassime would overtake again.
