ATP rankings: Andrey Rublev with a new career high

Andrey Rublev has reached a new career high by reaching the finals in Monte Carlo. The Russian is now in seventh place in the ATP world rankings.

Overtaking Roger Federer in the ATP world rankings? There have to be several monster achievements. And that despite the fact that the maestro has completed exactly two competition matches in the past 15 months. Nevertheless, Federer is still in eighth position in the current ATP world rankings. Finally overtaken by Andrey Rublev, who won four tournaments during Federer's absence in Hamburg, St. Petersburg, Vienna and Rotterdam and has now reached the final in Monte Carlo. According to the arithmetic, this makes the ATP seventh place in the tennis world. Rublev had already made his new record clear by reaching the semifinals.

The charts are still topped by Novak Djokovic , followed by Daniil Medvedev and Rafael Nadal . Dominic Thiem is fourth, Alexander Zverev follows in sixth. Stefanos Tsitsipas stayed in fifth place despite the win against Rublev. Djokovic will serve in Belgrade this week, Nadal and Tsitsipas in Barcelona, Medvedev has to sit out because of a positive corona test, Thiem and Zverev do so of their own free will.

In the Race to Turin, the annual standings, Tsitsipas has taken the lead ahead of Rublev and Djokovic.

Fognini loser of the week

Jannik Sinner made it into the top 20 for the first time, the South Tyrolean is in 19th place despite the defeat against Djokovic in the second round of Monte Carlo. Casper Ruud, semi-finalist in the Principality, has set his best career ranking with 24th.

The loser of the week was Fabio Fognini , who lost nine places by missing his title defense in Monte Carlo and slipped from 18 to 27.
