A few weeks ago, Wu Yibing was nominated as Comeback Player of the Year 2022, and Borna Coric, who won the ATP Masters 1000 tournament in Cincinnati last summer, grabbed this award. Apparently Wu coped with this quite well - and just continued where he left off last year. Namely when playing successfully on the Challenger Tour. In any case, reaching the final in Cleveland, where the 23-year-old Chinese lost to Aleksandar Kovacevic from the USA, was enough to jump to position 97 in the ATP charts. And thus for the first time among the 100 best players in the world.

In a week that saw the spotlight on the Davis Cup and points were awarded only in Challenger events, a few other players also worked their way to career highs: aforementioned Zhang Zhizhen is 91st, Roman Safiullin, who is in Koblenz took the title, in 82nd place.

In the extended world class, which is of course led by Australian Open champion Novak Djokovic, Frances Tiafoe improved to 14th place. And Jiri Lehecka, who almost single-handedly brought the Czechs to the intermediate round of the Davis Cup in Portugal, has never been higher than currently at 37.
