Roger Federer is taking it a little easier on tennis retirement

A tennis world without Roger Federer was actually hardly imaginable until recently, the popular Swiss superstar made such a big impression during his career in "white sport". Almost half a year has passed since the last appearance of the 20-time Grand Slam champion at the Laver Cup in London... and the yellow felt ball is still spinning.

Of course, the sympathetic king of Wimbledon is missing from the men's circus, but in the past the course of events could not be stopped with icons such as Jimmy Connors, Björn Borg, Pete Sampras or Boris Becker. So the question is more important: What does "FedEx" do with the time gained that his athlete's pension now gives him?

"Roger Federer Foundation" in focus

First of all, the Confederate warns on Twitter of all worried minds who thought he was at home without a tennis racket in his hand, wallowing in severe depression: "I'm fine and I'm enjoying this new chapter in my life. I've been very busy with my body to get well again and have been working on existing and new projects."

One of his heart's projects is the "Roger Federer Foundation", which he founded in 2003 together with his parents. This foundation promotes early childhood education in South Africa by investing money in building schools or in training suitable teachers.

Specifically, "King Roger" is happy about the following points: "2.4 million children benefit from a high-quality education. More than 44,000 teachers have been able to improve their skills through training and more than 12,000 educational institutions have improved the quality of the curricula." A really meaningful job for the father of two pairs of twins, who we can only wholeheartedly wish for continued success.
