Sinner won against Filip Krajinovic 6: 2 and 7: 6 (6) in the afternoon and thus made a duel against Stefanos Tsitsipas clear. The Greek won against Karen Khachanov 4:6, 6:0 and 6:3 after difficulties at the beginning.
Also further from the young guard: Felix Auger-Aliassime, who won 6: 3, 6: 2 against Marcos Giron.

Alexander Zverev had already reached the round of eight by midday: The third in the world rankings defeated Alex de Minaur after difficulties 6: 3, 7: 6 (5).
