When Andrey Rublev and Stefanos Tsitsipas meet, a one-sided match rarely develops. This was true both at their very first meeting in 2017 at the Challenger in Quimper (Rublev won in the tie break of the third set) as well as at the most recent before the semifinals in Rotterdam at the ATP Finals in London 2020 (it was Tsitsipas who took the third act in Tiebreaker).

Tsitsipas gave up his serve for the first time in the third game, but couldn't take a chance at the rebreak immediately afterwards. As with the score of 2: 3. So Rublev preferred to relieve his opponent of his service again and won the first round 6: 3. In the second set it went evenly into the tiebreak, in which Andrey Rublev prevailed 7-2.

The man from Moscow thus maintained his winning streak in ATP Tour 500 tournaments: Rublev has now won 19 matches in a row at events in this category, starting with the Hamburg European Open 2020.

The second finalist in Rotterdam will be determined in the game between Marton Fucsovics and Borna Coric. Coric beat Kei Nishikori in the quarterfinals on Friday, while Fucsovics beat Tommy Paul in two sets late in the evening.
