Last year, Sinner celebrated the first of three tournament victories on the ATP tour in the Bulgarian capital, back then in the final against Vasek Pospisil. Tomorrow, Friday, the 18-year-old South Tyrolean will face the Australian James Duckworth.
In the second quarter-finals of the upper half of the tableau, Filip Krajinovic and Lucky Loser Kamil Majchrzak play against each other.
Gael Monfils, who was seeded in second place, spent a quiet afternoon: Opponent Ilya Ivashka could not play for the round of 16, Monfils continued without a fight. And will meet Gianluca Mager from Italy on Friday, who was able to assert himself against Miomir Kecmanovic in two sets.
