Jannik Sinner is in Sofia for the third time in a row in the semifinals

Bulgaria - or more precisely the capital Sofia - seems to be an excellent soil for the Italian Jannik Sinner. With the clear 6:2, 6:3 quarter-final victory against the Australian Aleksandar Vukic, the current world ranking tenth in the south-eastern European metropolis increased to eleven wins with zero defeats.

Sinner has already won the ATP World Tour 250 event in its two previous starts. In 2020 he narrowly defeated the Canadian Vasek Pospisil 6: 4, 3: 6, 7: 6 (3) in the final, while last year it was much easier in the final against the Frenchman Gael Monfils.

In the semi-finals, the South Tyrolean will face either Ilya Ivashka from Belarus or Holger Rune from Denmark - the two will play the last game of the day.

The other semi-final pairing has already been determined: Swiss Marc-Andrea Huesler, who defeated Poland's Kamil Majchrzak 6:7 (4), 7:6 (6), 6:3, meets Italian Lorenzo Musetti, who defeated the German Jan-Lennard Struff took out of the tournament 7: 6 (3) and 6: 1.

Here the single tableau from Sofia.
