Andy Murray has certainly not lacked match practice lately. From the US Open to the start of the ATP 250 event in Stockholm, the three-time Grand Slam winner took part in seven tournaments, and in Sweden the Scot is now making his eighth appearance in just two months.
After Murray was eliminated in the first round in Paris-Bercy, he took his opening hurdle in Stockholm in two sets. The former world number one took 97 minutes to defeat Norwegian qualifier Viktor Durasovic 6: 1 and 7: 6 (7).
The Briton now has to deal with the top seeded Jannik Sinner in the second round. The first duel between the two will not take place on Wednesday before 6:00 p.m. Central European time.
Tuesday was less satisfactory for Alexander Bublik than for Murray. The Kazakh had to give up against Arthur Rinderknech when the score was 1: 6 and 0: 2. Botic van de Zandschulp and Pedro Martinez, however, made it into the second round.
