Dominic Thiem will open in Tel Aviv next week

Dominic Thiem was allowed to lend a hand in Tel Aviv and honored himself at the official draw ceremony for the ATP 250 event. The draw, which the Lichtenwörther gave himself, is not particularly good: after the first round duel with Laslo Djere, Marin Cilic, who was seeded second, could wait.

Thiem is undefeated in four duels with the Croatian, given the current form, the world number 16 would go. - who benefits from a bye in round one - probably as a favorite in the race. And also: Thiem lost the only encounter so far against first-round opponent Djere.

Djokovic top seed, Thiem on the other half

If Thiem clears both hurdles, it could go against Botic van de Zandschulp from the Netherlands, possible opponents in the semifinals are Maxime Cressy or Adrian Mannarino. Incidentally, Thiem had to accept a very bitter chapter in his career, as the Austrian suffered the wrist injury in a duel with the Frenchman that has kept Thiem on his toes for so long.

The number one in Tel Aviv, however, is none other than Novak Djokovic. After a bye at the start, the Serb could meet Pablo Andujar, possible opponents in the quarter-finals are Tallon Griekspor. Diego Schwartzman or Aslan Karatsev could then wait in the semifinals.
