ATP Tokyo: Shapovalov beats Coric, Kyrgios withdraws injured
Denis Shapovalov was the last player to reach the semifinals of the ATP Tour 500 event in Tokyo. Nick Kyrgios , on the other hand, was unable to compete in his quarterfinals against Taylor Fritz.

Bad luck for all Japanese tennis fans who were looking forward to the match between Nick Kyrgios and Taylor Fritz in the third quarterfinals in Tokyo on Friday evening local time. Because Kyrgios could not compete due to an injury to his left knee. And the second match between Denis Shapovalov and Borna Coric also lacked a bit of drama. After a focused performance, the Canadian prevailed 6:4 and 6:3.
Shapovalov had only reached the final in Seoul last week, which he lost to Yoshihito Nishioka. Local hero Nishioka failed in Tokyo in round one because of Miomir Kecmanovic.
Frances Tiafoe and Soon-Woo Kwon will contest the second semi-final in the Japanese capital 6:4.
