Andrey Rublev is still on the rise

The unexpected forced break due to the cancellation of the ATP Masters 1000 tournament in Indian Wells leaves at least more time to take a closer look at the developments in the world rankings. Especially those players who have either made a big leap in the charts or have stabilized their good position.

First of all, of course, there would be Novak Djokovic, undefeated in 2020, decorated with the titles at the ATP Cup, the Australian Open and most recently in Dubai. Almost forgotten that 2019 had ended with a little disappointment for Djokovic in terms of the world ranking - as industry leader Rafael Nadal finally hibernated. Djokovic once again put the Spaniard in the place of the ATP Cup, however, the cancellation in Indian Wells will also increase the distance between the two superstars. In favor of Djokovic, who lost to Philipp Kohlschreiber early last year. Nadal, on the other hand, go 360 points.

Thiem only endangered by Medvedev

Dominic Thiem, who is still waiting for his first tournament success in the current campaign, can also be very satisfied, but with third place has reached a new career high in the world rankings. And the Austrian will keep this at least until the start of the ATP Masters 1000 tournament in Miami - there Daniil Medvedev would have to really fly to be able to overtake Thiem.

Andrey Rublev, on the other hand, has already entered the winners' lists twice. Before the start of the season, Roger Federer had tipped the Russian as the big positive surprise, the success of Rublev in Doha and Auckland proved the maestro right. Rublev is currently heading for London, is fifth in the race, followed by Cristian Garin, the amazing Chilean who has also played among the top 20 professionals in the world. Casper Ruud also surpassed his father Christian (career high 39) with chart position 34.
Dennis Novak, who entered the top 100 for the first time, is also currently setting new records in 85th place. But also Taylor Fritz with position 24 and Daniel Evans as number 28.
