ATP tour: Zverev, Monfils and Murray serve in Cologne

The calendar of the ATP tour has received an update again. Interesting from a German-speaking point of view: In Cologne there will be two 250 tournaments after the French Open. With a prominent cast: Alexander Zverev , Andy Murray and Gael Monfils have already confirmed their attendance.

The European indoor season on the ATP tour opens with a spectacular tennis double pack in Cologne! From October 11 to 18 and from October 18 to 25, 2020, the LANXESS arena will host two ATP 250 competitions, each endowed with EUR 325,610, with a total prize money of EUR 651,220 at stake in Cologne stands.

The first tournament is held under the title bett1HULKS Indoors, the second is called the bett1HULKS Championship. With Alexander Zverev, who will play against Pablo Carreno Busta (ESP) for the finals at the US Open in New York on Friday, as well as the three-time Grand Slam tournament winner Andy Murray (US Open 2012, Wimbledon 2013 and 2016) and Gael Monfils three superstars have already confirmed their participation in the tournaments in Cologne.

“It is great that two ATP tournaments are being held in Cologne in this difficult season. Playing in Germany is always something very special for me, so I would be very happy if as many spectators as possible could be there. I had a very good restart on the tour in New York, and I'm in good spirits that I can take my strong form with me to Cologne, ”said Alexander Zverev, looking forward to his home tournaments with confidence.

Also new in the calendar: a tournament in Sardinia and one in Nur-Sultan. The first parallel to Cologne I, the second during the week in which the Erste Bank Open also takes place in the Wiener Stadthalle.
