ATP Umag: Daniel Altmaier benefits from the task and is in the round of 16
Daniel Altmaier reached the round of 16 in Umag. The Kempener benefited from a task by the Frenchman Corentin Moutet at the ATP 250 event.

Against the hot-blooded French, Daniel Altmaier had to give up the first set 5: 7, but then the musculoskeletal system at Moutet no longer seemed to be running smoothly. The Kempener managed to equalize the set with 6: 1. The decision was then not made, his French opponent had to retire due to injury.
In the eighth final, Altmaier is now against the Italian Gianluca Mager, who caused a sensation, especially with his victory last year at the ATP 500 event in Rio de Janeiro against Dominic Thiem. A possible opponent in the quarter-final would be Dusan Lajovic, who was seeded as number two. Top seed in Croatia is Albert Ramos-Vinolas.
