ATP: Vasek Pospisil separates from trainer Frank Dancevic

Vasek Pospisil has to look for a new trainer: After two years of working together, the current world number 66 is parting ways. from his compatriot Frank Dancevic. On his Twitter account, the Wimbledon champion in doubles announced that the ATP Masters tournament in Indian Wells will be the last joint work place for the two. Dancevic will remain captain of the Canadian national team until further notice.

Still close friends

“Nothing we could have foreseen after such a successful time together, but life is full of surprises,” wrote Pospisil on the social media channel. “We will continue to be close friends and see what the future brings. Thanks for everything, Frankyyy. ”The reason for the separation is not documented. It is also not yet known who will follow the 36-year-old man from Niagara Falls as Pospisil's supervisor.

Dancevic led the now 31-year-old to two ATP World Tour 250 finals in Montpellier and Sofia - both in the Corona year 2020. In February 2020, Pospisil won the doubles title at the indoor hard court together with Frenchman Nicolas Maut -Event in Marseille, while in July of this year, together with the American Austin Krajicek, a final participation in the lawn tournament in Newport looked out.
