Nick Kyrgios continues to inspire at the ATP World Tour 500 tournament in Washington: The man from Canberra defeated the fourteenth-seeded American Tommy Paul in the second round relatively easily 6: 3, 6: 4. The Australian, who has hitherto been in a good mood to play in DC, challenges the US service giant Reilly Opelka in the round of 16, who in turn defeated compatriot Denis 6:7(6),-6:4,-6:4 Kudla struggled far more.

Hurkacz fails to make a successful comeback on the tour

The number two in the hard court tournament, Hubert Hurkacz, has already been eliminated: the Pole was left behind in a 4:6, 6:7 (3) against the Finn Emil Ruusuvuori - the number eleven in the world tennis rankings has been in contention since the first-round defeat at Wimbledon no match at tournament level.

While the 23-year-old from the state of Ohio meets the Dane Holger Rune (6: 3, 6: 2 against Wundertüte Benoit Paire) in the round of 16, Ruusuvuori is getting ready for a duel between Scandinavians and Mikael Ymer.
