Greg Rusedski sailed through the ATP circus under the British flag in the final phase of his career, but that doesn't change the fact that Rusedski saw the light of day in Canada. And still strongly associated by many people with his country of birth.
But that's probably not the main reason why rumors are mounting that Rusedski could soon have a new job. Because, as the tennismajors.com portal credibly explains, a collaboration between Greg Rusedski and one of the two exceptional Canadian players is in the offing. Namely the one where things are not going smoothly: Denis Shapovalov.
Rusedski always had a lot of self-confidence
That would fit well in that Rusedski caused a sensation as a left-hander, there would certainly be common points of contact with Shapovalov, who failed in Indian Wells in the first match to Ugo Humbert. Mother Tessa Shapovalova is said to have withdrawn from the supervisory staff, officially ex-professional Peter Polansky is currently the coach.
It could stay that way. Because Rusedski, who has always been blessed with amazing self-confidence, sees himself more as a super coach who only sits in his protégé's box on selected occasions.
