Dominic Thiem is in the round of 16 at the ATP 250 tournament in Winston-Salem - but not in the way the Austrian would have liked. From Thiem's point of view, the top seeded Grigor Dimitrov had to give up when the score was 0: 6 and 4: 2. Apparently, the Bulgarians were plagued by dizziness, but the exact reason was not known immediately after the end of the game.

Dimitrov started the game strongly, the first set went to the 31-year-old in no time at all. At first everything seemed fine in the second half, before the Bulgarian suddenly developed health problems towards the end of the sixth game and gave up after a brief consultation with the physiotherapist and the tournament doctor.

"I hope he'll be healthy again soon. I didn't want to win the match like that," said Thiem immediately after the game. In the round of 16, the 2020 US Open winner will meet Jack Draper or Fabio Fognini on Wednesday (local time).
