The good performance at the ATP 250 event in Munich paid off for Dominic Thiem: thanks to the quarter-finals, the Austrian made up eight places in the ATP world rankings and is now in 93rd place. The Lichtenwörther has at least been able to consolidate its place among the top 100 somewhat. Thiem will open in Madrid this week.
Nothing has changed at the top of the ATP charts: Novak Djokovic is still enthroned. The first pursuers are Carlos Alcaraz and Daniil Medvedev, who was able to get ahead of Casper Ruud. Stefanos Tsitsipas, Andrey Rublev, Holger Rune and Jannik Sinner are behind them in fifth to eighth place. Felix Auger-Aliassime and Taylor Fritz complete the top 10.
Nadal and Zverev outside the top 10
Rafael Nadal, who will also be missing in Madrid due to injury, is only 14th behind him. Alexander Zverev is just behind him in 16th place, the German disappointed with an opening defeat in Munich and now has a lot of points in Madrid, Rome and Paris To defend. The second best German in the ranking is the reinvigorated Jan-Lennard Struff as 65. Daniel Altmaier (92nd) and Oscar Otte (98th) are also in the top 100.
Austria's number two behind Dominic Thiem is still Jurij Rodionov in 119th, behind them Filip Misolic made a strong leap forward with a win at Challenger level: The Styrian is the new number 126 in the ATP world rankings. A personal best for the Austrian.
