Jannik Sinner is better placed than ever before

Everything was the same in the top ten of the ATP world rankings: After the event in Rome, nothing happened at the top in the men's ranking, Novak Djokovic is still in the lead ahead of Daniil Medvedev and Rafael Nadal. Behind the top trio are Dominic Thiem, Stefanos Tsitsipas and Alexander Zverev, the top eight are completed by Andrey Rublev and Roger Federer.

The two Rome semi-finalists Reilly Opelka and Lorenzo Sonego made the biggest leap forward within the top 50. The American improved by twelve positions to 35th, the Italian made up five places and is now 28th in the world rankings.

Nadal is catching up in the race

A compatriot Sonegos also had reason to celebrate: Despite his second round defeat in Rome, Jannik Sinner can look forward to a new personal record with 17th place. This also applies to his opponent in Lyon, Aslan Karastev. The Russian is now in 25th place. Alexander Bublik (38th), Alejandro Davidovich Fokina (45th) and Yannick Hanfmann (92nd) also recorded new career highs in the Top 100.

The Race to Turin is still led by Stefanos Tsitsipas. Behind them, Novak Djokovic overtook the Russian Andrey Rublev, and his compatriot Daniil Medvedev also had to give up fourth place to Alexander Zverev. The new sixth is now Rafael Nadal, who climbed four places thanks to his triumph in Rome. As things stand, Aslan Karatsev and Hubert Hurkacz should also take part in the year-end finals for the eight best players. Dominic Thiem is in 16th place in this ranking.
