Denis Shapovalov actually made his first entry into the top ten of the ATP world rankings on the racket: The Canadian served in the great semifinals at the ATP Masters 1000 tournament in Rome against Diego Schwartzman at a score of 5: 4 in the third set the entry into the final. And thus to a safe place among the top ten professionals in the ATP charts. But Schwartzman made the comeback. And thus created a chance to give its own premiere in the Bel Etage of men's tennis. A prerequisite for this, however, is a success against Novak Djokovic in today's final in Rome. The chances are not good: Djokovic has won all four previous games against Schwartzman.

The industry leader himself could further set himself apart from Rafael Nadal with a win. The Spaniard will keep his 1000 points from 2019 due to the special regulation of the ATP, Djokovic, however, currently only has 600 points for Rome, so could add 400. In third place is Dominic Thiem with a respectful distance to Roger Federer, who will not intervene again until next year.

Two other players have gained in the Rome week: Casper Ruud , who failed in the semi-finals on Sunday by Novak Djokovic, is now in 30th place in the live ranking, a new career high. The same applies to Dominik Koepfer, who made up 31 places with his entry into the quarter-finals and is now in 66th place. As the third best German behind Alexander Zverev (7) and Jan-Lennard Struff (32).
