Australian Open: Daniil Medvedev easily reached the quarter-finals - 18th victory in a row

World number four Daniil Medvedev has reached the round of eight at the Australian Open with a three-set win over Mackenzie Macdonald.

Medvedev won 6: 4, 6: 2, 6: 3 over the world rankings-192. from the USA and remains one of the top favorites for the title in Melbourne.

Medvedev made 29 winners with only 15 mistakes without emergency, he used six of seven break chances. And celebrated his 18th victory in a row: at the end of 2020 he had triumphed at the Paris Masters and the ATP Finals, and he also won all of his four singles at the ATP Cup at the beginning of the year. At the Australian Open, he had to go over five sets in round 3 against Filip Krajinovic.

In Melbourne, Medvedev is waiting in the quarter-finals for the winner of the game between compatriot Andrey Rublev and Casper Ruud.
