Australian Open: Novak Djokovic has to stretch against Tiafoe
Defending champion Novak Djokovic is in the third round of the Australian Open 2021 - but had to work harder than expected against Frances Tiafoe.

Djokovic won 6: 3, 6: 7 (3), 7: 6 (2) and 6: 3 against the world number 64, who kept up surprisingly well and made life difficult for Djoker over longer distances.
Djokovic got off to a good start with a quick break, set 1 went confidently to the world number one. But Tiafoe then got Djokovic into trouble with variable play and won the second round. Djokovic then put in a quick break in set 3 again, but the US-American equalized just as quickly, the tiebreak then quickly ran away. In the final sentence, Tiafoe let himself be disconcerted by a few tight decisions with no challenge options and received a warning shortly before the end. In the end, a double fault sealed the end.
