Russian tennis star Daniil Medvedev will compete in the Australian Open in 2022. "See you in January," wrote the US Open winner on Twitter on Tuesday, adding a photo of himself with the cup of the loser from the last event last February.
The Australian state of Victoria recently confirmed that only vaccinated people are allowed entry. This jeopardizes the start of the defending champion Novak Djokovic (Serbia), who is skeptical of vaccinations, at the Grand Slam tournament. Medvedev (25) did not want to comment on his vaccination status so far.
The Grand Slam tournament in Melbourne starts on January 17th.
