Australian Open: Serena Williams beats Halep - semi-final hammer now against Osaka

Serena Williams has reached the semi-finals at the Australian Open 2021. In an intense match, she beat Simona Halep 6: 3, 6: 3.

And the result seems more relaxed than the match made. Both players exchanged early breaks at the beginning of the game, in the end the force of Williams was decisive for leading the set. /

In the second half, Halep got hold of the trigger, was able to move Williams better, but she still made up a 0-2 deficit to 3: 3. Then the decisive game: Halep fought his way back after a 0:40, but Williams had three more break chances, the sixth of the game she used for the preliminary decision. After that, she only gave up two points and decided the match with a forehand winner, her 24th overall. Halep only got 9 and in the end had too little to oppose the American's powerful game.

Williams will now face Naomi Osaka in the semifinals, who had won the day session quite confidently against Su-Wei Hsieh.
