bett1ACES: Berrettini, Bautista Agut and Khachanov follow Thiem to Berlin
World ranking third Dominic Thiem will receive top-class competition at the bett1ACES starting on Monday with Matteo Berrettini, Roberto Bautista Agut and Karen Khachanov.

Edwin Weindorfer's phone, organizer of bett1ACES in Berlin, has barely stood still in the past 48 hours! On Friday afternoon everything was closed and the tennis invitation tournaments from July 13th to 15th, 2020 on grass in the Steffi Graf Stadium of the LTTC "Rot-Weiß" eV and from July 17th to 19th, 2020 on hard court in Hangar 6 at Tempelhof Airport with Matteo Berrettini, Roberto Bautista Agut and Karen Khachanov added three top 15 players!
The Italian world ranking eighth Berrettini contests the lawn tournament in the Steffi Graf stadium, the Spaniard Bautista Agut (ATP number 12) serves at both events and the Russian Khachanov (ATP-15) then gets involved in the hangar at the Tempelhof . Together with the Austrian Dominic Thiem, the current number three in the ATP ranking, the men's field at bett1ACES shines with four tennis aces from the top 15 in the world rankings.
Berrettini, Khachanov, Bautista Agut and Thiem have only recently seen each other at Thiem's 7, a prize money tournament organized by the Austrian number one, in Kitzbühel. Berrettini will also play the final games at the Ultimate Tennis Showdown at Patrick Mouratoglou's academy on Sunday.
Originally, Alexander Zverev and Nick Kyrgios should have opened in Berlin. However, both canceled for different reasons.
Kvitova, Svitolina, Bertens, Görges at the start for the women
Equally top-class is the women's field, which features three top 12 players with the Ukrainian Elina Svitolina (WTA number 5), the Dutch Kiki Bertens (WTA-7) and the Czech Petra Kvitova (WTA-12) .

Roberto Bautista Agut is a very versatile player and has already won tournaments on all surfaces (sand, grass, hard court, note) on the ATP tour, and Karen Khachanov is dangerous for every opponent with his power tennis, ”explains Weindorfer, while tournament director Barbara Rittner emphasizes the balance of the women's field. "Although Elina Svitolina, Kiki Bertens and Petra Kvitova are to be preferred in terms of ranking, the Latvian Anastasija Sevastova and the two German players Julia Görges and Andrea Petkovic are always good for surprises."
