In the end, 6: 1, 6: 1 was surprisingly clear for number 43 in the WTA world rankings, who only gave nine points on their own serve - and benefited from 22 mistakes without needing their opponent. The one-sided game, which Sevastova did not want to accept as such, only lasted 47 minutes: “Despite the clear result, it was a difficult match. You should never let up, it was physically demanding, "said the 30-year-old Latvian with the fine blade.
In the final, she now meets Petra Kvitova, a two-time Wimbledon champion of the same age, who prefers to play fast. "I have to move even better because she is such a good lawn and hard court player," says Sevastova. Kvitova had already played a final of the bett1Aces on Friday, the "catch-up final" of the grass pitch, which had also been moved to Hangar 6 at Tempelhof due to bad weather. Svitolina had won here in the end.
The final of the second part between Sevastova and Kvitova is now scheduled for Sunday as a second match after 4 p.m., after the men's final between Dominic Thiem and Jannik Sinner. Already from 12 noon duel for third place Tommy Haas and Roberto Bautista Agut as well as Andrea Petkovic and Svitolina.
