"Big Mac" about Holger Rune: "This is how you lead a lonely life"
From his career, John McEnroe knows all the little games that can be played with fans and opponents. Lately his bad boy role has been taken up by young Dane Holger Rune on tour. But such behavior also entails great dangers, the American believes.

Holger Rune remains the subject of dispute on the ATP tour. Is the young Dane positively crazy and confident? Or just badly brought up? You argue.
Including an ex-player who was not afraid to provoke himself in his career. His name: John McEnroe. "I've said it before and I'll say it again: it's hard to be a total asshole and play on the tennis tour, okay? It's possible, but you end up leading a very lonely life," he says on the podcast "Holding Court" of his brother Patrick McEnroe.
"He likes to have fun, he likes to address the audience, but he does it in a way that sometimes irritates his opponents a bit. Certainly he irritates the audience. So what's happening is that he earned a reputation," he added.
"I think Rune is still going to develop. I think he can do some serious damage at the French Open. The kid is a huge talent and brings a lot of energy to the pitch. I think he's capable of majors win. Probably not this year. He's still a bit up and down through matches for me, but we've seen him play great and big matches," according to Big Mac.
Although Holger Rune would probably have no problems with it if he could one day look back on a career like John McEnroe. (Almost) all games could be fine with him.
