So far it has not been the game of the German women in Kazakhstan. First, Angelique Kerber lost to Yulia Putintseva (6:3, 3:6, 2:6) - then Laura Siegemund was clearly inferior to Elena Rybakina (0:6, 1:6) . With the score at 0:2, it will be difficult to turn the game around. Tomorrow Kerber has to play against Rybakina in the duel of the players in first place. The other interim results at a glance.

Italy – France: 2-0

The opening match between Italy and France was hard fought. After almost two and a half hours, Jasmine Paolini won against Australian Open quarterfinalist Alize Cornet (2: 6, 6: 1, 7: 6) and thus laid the foundation for Camila Giorgi's game. In the second match of the day, she had no problems with Oceane Dodin (6: 1, 6: 2).

Netherlands – Spain: 0:2

Like Italy, Spain leads 2-0. Nuria Parrizas Diaz won against Arantxa Rus in two sets (6:2, 7:6). Then Sara Sorribes Tormo followed up against Lesley Pattinama Kerkhove (6:4, 6:3).

Poland – Romania: 2-0

It was already clear before the game against Romania that Poland with the current number 1 in the world, Iga Swiatek, should be rated strongly. And Swiatek once again underlined their form. She beat Mihaela Buzarnescu 6-1, 6-0 in just 55 minutes. At that point, however, Poland was already leading 1-0, as Magda Linette was successful after three sets against Irina-Camelia Begu (6:1, 4:6, 6:2).

Czech Republic – Great Britain: 1:1

Emma Raducanu, who hasn't had much experience on clay so far, won her match 7-5, 7-5 against Tereza Martincova. Earlier, Herriet Dart was 6-1, 6-0 and had no chance against Marketa Vondrousova, who will face Raducanu in the third match of the match tomorrow.

The games between the USA and Belgium as well as Canada and Latvia have not yet started.
