In the Hessian town of Hochheim am Main, the mammoth project will soon be a reality, the hall with 22 seats if possible this year. Because on April 30, the Boris Becker International Tennis Academy passed the decisive hurdle when the city council in Hochheim decided on the administrative proposal.
Investor Khaled Ezzedine, who is investing around 20 million in the international project , was relieved: "I am glad that the decision was clear and that the academy received so much support. Actually, it was in advance it's clear that there is widespread public acceptance, but sometimes political processes are unpredictable. The Corona crisis has delayed decisions recently, but everything will go quickly from now on. " He expects construction to begin in eight weeks at the latest.

The center is to be 48,000 square meters in size, with 18 open spaces, a Boris Becker Museum and the largest indoor tennis hall in the world. The Cologne Dorint Group will also operate the associated hotel - with 114 rooms. The restaurant, fitness center and swimming and sauna area should also run via Dorint. The hall should open this autumn, and the entire academy will open in 2021. Obermayr will also offer a high school with boarding from 5th to 13th grade, the students should live in the adjacent boarding house.
The Rafa Nadal Academy in Manacor and the Mouratoglou Academy in Nice serve as role models for the Boris Becker Academy. The entire training is to cost 54,000 euros annually.
