Schwartzman was unable to recover from his injury sustained against Pablo Cuevas in a crazy quarter-final and had to cancel for the semi-finals. The Portuguese Pedro Sousa, who only slipped into the main field as a lucky loser, is now in his first ATP final.

Schwartzman, on the other hand, will be out for two to three weeks due to a small tear in the adductor area and will therefore also have to do without the ATP 500 event in Rio de Janerio that will take place next week. The Argentinian is aiming for a return to the first ATP Masters 1000 tournament of the year in Indian Wells.

In the first semi-final, the Argentine fans also had to experience a defeat for their compatriot. Juan Ignacio Londero served against Casper Ruud at the score of 6: 4 and 5: 4 on the match win, but in the end the Norwegian should prevail with 4: 6, 7: 5 and 6: 1.
