Bad news for Carlos Alcaraz : The world number one will miss the Australian Open. He announced this on Friday evening via social media. Accordingly, the Spaniard sustained an injury to the semimembranosus muscle in his right leg during training.

"I've worked so hard to reach my best level for Australia, but unfortunately I can't play either the Care A2+ Kooyong or the Australian Open," wrote Alcaraz, who only sustained an abdominal muscle injury at the end of last season.
