Newcomer Ben Shelton has proven in recent months that he is blessed with a lot of talent, but cannot yet consistently perform at the top level. The number 36 in the world rankings should now help the family. Because his father Bryan is ready to fully support his son on his way.

Ben Shelton left his NCAA tennis team with the Florida Gators in the summer of 2022 in order to be able to attack fully as a professional on the ATP tour and gave up his training in Florida. Now his father, Bryan Shelton, who is a coach at the same college, has announced his retirement there to help Ben pursue his dream.

Bryan Shelton was a professional tennis player himself and was able to climb to number 55 in the world rankings in the 90s and win two ATP tournaments in his career. Ben Shelton took to social media to announce his father's retirement and thanked him for all the years he worked at the school. "My dad retired from college coaching today," Shelton wrote. "Congratulations on everything you have achieved in your 24 years."

However, the 20-year-old was excited to start the journey with his dad.'It's a help, the dream is back together baby!' he added. "I can't wait to have you on tour with me and see what we can achieve together."
