The pair won 6: 3, 3: 6 and 7: 6 (5) over Andrey Rublev and Karen Khachanov from Russia, making it 2-1. Shapovalov and Pospisil led Canada for the first time in the final of the Davis Cup. Previously, the Canadians had only 1913 and 2013 reached the semifinals. "I'm speechless," said Shapovalov's first reaction after the narrow victory.

Shapovalov and Pospisil had already lost 0: 3 in the final decision, and then Pospisil - Wimbledon double champ from 2014 - turned the spot.

Previously, Andrey Rublev had brought the Russian team into the lead, but Denis Shapovalov compensated .

Canada will face the winner of the Spain match against the United Kingdom in Sunday's final. The final is scheduled for 16.30 CET.
