Bad luck for Dayana Yastremska : The Ukrainian had appealed against her positive doping test and had traveled to Melbourne in the hope of being lifted.

Yastremska tested positive for an illicit substance in November 2020 and was temporarily banned by the ITF.
Irritating then is a photo that appeared on social media a few days ago: Yastremska with Svetlana Kuznetsova on the plane to Melbourne - apparently in the hope that an appeal against the ban would be successful. That was not the case, the case is now going to the Court of Arbitration (CAS).
Yastresmska: Quarantine in Melbourne - and then back home
Double bad luck for the world number 29: She was in one of the planes whose passengers had to go into hard quarantine due to a positive COVID-19 test, without the "free" five hours for training and fitness.
As a result, there was also criticism of the trip in general. Richard Ings, former ATP referee and CEO of the Australian Anti-Doping Authority, wrote that Yastremska should never have traveled to Melbourne and that a hearing should have taken place before departure. The ITF or the tennis anti-doping program would have to compensate Tennis Australia for the flight and hotel costs incurred.
