In the semifinals of the doped with $ 250,000 hard court tournament, the world ranking 26th Kasachin Jelena Rybakina made 6: 3, 6: 4 against the 17 places behind her. The final will see the premiere duel with former French Open winner Jelena Ostapenko (Latvia), who won in three sets against Russian Anna Blinkova.

In 2018, Görges celebrated one of her seven tournament victories on the WTA Tour in Luxembourg, securing her last title at the beginning of this year in Auckland / New Zealand.

Against Rybakina Görges was not as strong as in the previous tournament, but showed in the crucial moments but nervously strong: They took advantage of each of their three break opportunities and even fended off seven of the eight breakballs of their 20-year-old counterparty.

Ostapenko had defeated Antonia Lottner (Dusseldorf) in the quarter-finals with 6: 1, 6: 1 out of the tournament, Laura Siegemund (Metzingen) had failed in the round of the last eight. For Tatjana Maria (Bad Saulgau) and Andrea Petkovic (Darmstadt) was already in round one final stop. Former world number one Angelique Kerber had canceled her participation due to injury and ended her season prematurely.
