Grigor Dimitrov and Serena Williams have probably not left Melbourne in the best of circumstances: the Bulgarian had a great chance of making it back to the semifinals of the first major of the year after 2017. And then went handicapped by an injury in the quarterfinals against Aslan Karatsev . Serena, on the other hand, found her master in the eventual winner Naomi Osaka and has to wait for major title number 24. The training enthusiasm of the two has not suffered. There was no place in the exquisite training group for Venus Williams , who held some Instagram live workouts with Grigor Dimitrov during the Corona break. And so Venus asked where her invitation would have gone.
The next assignment for Dimitrov will be the ATP Tour 500 tournament in Acapulco. Serena and Venus Williams will probably only start playing again in Miami.
