Diriyah Tennis Cup: Alexander Zverev is defeated by Daniil Medvedev
Alexander Zverev missed the semifinals at the Diriyah Tennis Cup in Saudi Arabia. After his opening success over Dominic Thiem , the German lost to Daniil Medvedev in straight sets on Thursday afternoon.

Alexander Zverev missed the semi-finals of his comeback tournament in Saudi Arabia. The German lost 6-0 and 6-0 in the last eight of the controversial Diriyah Tennis Cup to second seeded Daniil Medvedev.
Unlike in the morning, when Zverev had prevailed against the Austrian Dominic Thiem in two match tiebreaks, the game was played in a longer format in the afternoon. Medvedev proved to be clearly too strong for returnee Zverev, who celebrated his comeback in Saudi Arabia after more than six months of injury.
Medvedev will meet Stan Wawrinka in Friday's semi-finals, who beat Andrey Rublev 6-7 (3), 6-2 and 10-6 in the first quarter-final of the day. For Zverev it continues in doubles.
