After the disappointing US Open in the coming weeks, Dominic Thiem is likely to find some more pleasant tasks again. In the Davis Cup, there should be no fire against Finland in the normal course of the game, after which the 26-year-old will take part in both the Laver Cup and an exhibition in Wuhan.
On the sidelines of the WTA tournament in Wuhan, the Austrian will meet the Italian Fabio Fognini on September 28th. "I have heard that the Wuhan Open is one of the largest and best women's tournaments in the world. As a tennis fan, I look forward to getting there and experiencing it myself," explains Thiem.
Lichtenwörther said of the exhibition match that will take place before the women's finals: "I hope that Fabio and I can deliver a good show for the fans and that we will have fun on the court." Fognini is also ready to "have fun" on the course.
For both Thiem and the Italian, the events in Beijing and Shaghai are on the program after the exhibition before the two of them will return to Europe.
