Dominic Thiem and Rafael Nadal back in training

Dominic Thiem and Rafael Nadal have resumed training before the upcoming season.

It was the 9th of June this year, when Rafael Nadal and Dominic Thiem faced each other for the second time in a row in the final of the French Open. As in 2018, the Spaniard prevailed and thus took his twelfth title in Paris. Another final of the two in the Stade Roland Garros in the coming year would surprise only conditionally, both Nadal and Thiem will in all likelihood count again to the top favorites.

But as the saying goes, without diligence, no price will come out in the end. For this purpose, Nadal and Thiem have already resumed training to prepare for the upcoming season.

Thiem prepares for the first time in Miami for a new season. So far, the Austrian had spent his off-season always in Tenerife, this year, the 26-year-old wanted to change something due to some illnesses at the beginning of past seasons, in order to be able to call in Australia his performance maximum.

ATP Cup as the first program item

Nadal, on the other hand, unwinds his preparation at the local Rafa Nadal Academy and will try to go a step beyond 2019 in the Australian Open, which starts in just over a month. In the past season, the world's number one Novak Djokovic had beaten in the final clear.

But before Nadal and Thiem go to Melbourne for the first Grand Slam tournament of the year, both of them have the ATP Cup on their schedule. The Spanish industry leader will even attend an invitation event in Abu Dhabi (17-19 December).
