Dominic Thiem to touch - or at least to take a closer look - is now available in Vienna in the wax figure cabinet of Madame Tussaud in the Vienna Prater.

Prize question: Which tennis player has had his likeness cast in wax at the legendary Madame Tussaud museum in London? Local hero Andy Murray maybe? Cosmopolitan Roger Federer? Novak Djokovic, unbeaten at Wimbledon since 2017? no Only Rafael Nadal has been granted this privilege, of course rightly so.

Federer is now also available as a wax comrade, one of his sponsors has made a name for himself. So if you accidentally or even intentionally stop by Niederbuchsiten in the canton of Solothurn, you shouldn't be surprised if you see the maestro in a sporty leisure outfit but honestly immobile.

Dominic Thiem, on the other hand, is now in a competitive pose at Madame Tussaud in Vienna's Prater. It looks like a backhand slice that the 2020 US Open champion is doing as a wax figure. And so detailed that Thiem himself could not have imagined.

"The closer you get, the better it works," Thiem is quoted as saying in the Kronen Zeitung. However, Dominic Thiem is not the first Austrian tennis player to be shown in the Vienna Wax Museum. In this regard too, Thomas Muster has set a precedent.
