Altmaier had to fight for his service in his first service game, but was able to save it there. But in the second service game he had to accept the break after a double fault. Coric quickly pulled away in the first set to make it 4:1. Although the German stabilized during his service, there was simply nothing to be gained when his opponent served. With 6:3 the first set went to Borna Coric.
