This is always the case when he has to leave his family and friends alone to do his job. "The worst time for me is between December and January, when it will soon be back on the plane," Fognini admitted to the portal behindtheracquet.com . In the long off-season, he has the chance to meet friends, have a nice meal. But in the days before going on tour again, he got sick regularly, for around ten years. The time at home - it was like another life, from which he had to say goodbye. /

It was very bad when his first child was born. "It was eight months old and Flavia and I were in Miami to prepare. It was a unique time. But I had to fly to Australia and cry like a baby. I just couldn't imagine leaving her."

Fognini: "50 percent chance that I can no longer play tennis"

Fognini added that he often had moments in his life when he was thinking about taking a break. Also involuntarily, at the age of 18, when his wrist hurt. His doctor advised him to have an operation, but said that 50 percent of the time after that he could no longer play tennis. Fognini decided against it. "To date, I have never had surgery and I am grateful for the decision I made back then."

At the moment the Italian seems to enjoy the Corona break as much as possible and to spend enough "family time" - in an extremely creative way. It is to be hoped that it will not be all that difficult for him to say goodbye if it should go on tour again at some point ...
