Fabio Fognini on the NextGen - "Wouldn't buy a ticket"
Italy's veteran Fabio Fognini is not a fan of the next generation. Their game is based too much on serve and forehand.

Fabio Fognini briefly held court after reaching the quarterfinals of the ATP Tour 250 tournament in Buenos Aires. And also commented on the next generation of players on the ATP tour. Bottom line: The suspicion is that Fognini would rather take care of his children in retirement than spend the afternoons in front of the TV.
"Look, I'll be honest with you," Fognini began. "Maybe it's because I'm from the older generation. But I don't like how the future of our sport is presented. It's always the same with the boys, it's all about forehand and service bombs. I don't like that." It is interesting that Jannik Sinner, a young Italian, corresponds to the type of player described by Fognini. A man like Lorenzo Sonego but not at all.
Fognini would pay for Federer
In the course of his career, Fognini has certainly shown one or two things on the courts of the professional tennis world that not everyone likes, but the Italian finesse was almost always worth his entrance fee. "If I retire as a professional, I will not watch tennis on TV. And I won't buy a ticket for it either. I don't think it's worth it."
However, there is one man for whose matches Fabio Fognini would put a few lire on the table. “The one I would buy a ticket for is Federer . I wish I could see him like in days gone by. I love it. Everything seems so easy when he does it. But that's not it. I don't know if we'll ever see them at their best again."
On the other hand, Fabio Fognini will need his personal best form this Friday: In the quarter-finals in Buenos Aires he will face Federico Delbonis.
