Viktor Troicki is planning to end his career this year

Rafael Nadal, Novak Djokovic, Dominic Thiem - Viktor Troicki was able to put some very big exclamation marks in his long career and bring a large number of top 10 players to their knees. For the Serb himself, on the other hand, it was never enough to make it into the top ten in the tennis world, and twelfth place in the ATP charts will probably remain the best ranking that the 35-year-old has ever achieved.

Because the Serbian career is drawing to a close. Troicki explained that in an interview with Lens.rs: "I'm already a veteran in the sport. I'm slowly ending my career, the plan is to play a few more tournaments," explained the world number 195. "I've resigned myself to ending my career this year. I'm moving to other sport-related jobs, more as a professional coach."

Troicki the long-running favorite

In fact, Viktor Troicki is someone who can easily be described as a long-runner on the ATP tour. The Serbian’s best ranking has already been in the past ten years, and Troicki can also call himself a three-time ATP Tour Champion. While it should never be enough for the big hit for the 35-year-old at Grand Slam level - five round of 16 entries should remain the highest of feelings for Troicki - the Serbian played twice in an ATP Masters 1000 semifinals .

In addition, Troicki will probably end his career with a positive win / loss ratio, currently the veteran has 293 wins and 272 defeats. The Serb sees no particular reason to mourn in his upcoming end of his career. Instead, the former top 20 player is looking forward to the future: "I'm looking forward to this new task, new challenges and I hope it goes well."
